One of Frankie Owens’ earliest memories is of sneaking behind the bar to steal fresh ham cobs and cans of pop whilst her dad pulled pints for the crowds piling in on match day from Villa Park stadium next door to the pub he owned.

Those were her first lessons in the art and science of hospitality. As soon as she could she went to work herself pulling pints, waiting tables, making guests smile and putting the world to rights with the regulars.

In 2018 she started on the idea that she might like to do her own thing. She knew that a pub was more than the some of it’s parts. You needed good food, good drinks, good design and good people. You also needed to be part of the community and give people new and exciting reasons to come through your door. Miss one of those things and the magic is lost. But, get it right and you can create something worthwhile.

In September 2018, Frankie created the Good Host Group Ltd alongside her brothers and The Tardebigge pub was opened just under 12months later. The first of many, fingers crossed.
